Rather than copy a traditional design, our cooks and chefs started from a blank sheet. The walls and lid are the same thickness, so heat moves evenly through the pot - no fierce base scorching a stew while the top lags behind. The lid is slightly domed, giving bread room to rise and air room to circulate, and its underside carries small dimples that catch rising moisture and baste whatever is beneath. Generous handles make it easy to lift, even in oven gloves.
