A cast iron teapot in the traditional Japanese style: a rounded body, a 900ml capacity, and the heft cast iron is known for. That weight earns its keep - cast iron holds heat, so tea stays warm past the first cup.

The interior is enamelled, so there's no seasoning to keep up and no rust to manage. Rinse it, dry it, done. A stainless steel basket sits inside for loose leaf, and unlike a lot of cast iron teapots, this one can go on the hob.

The top two-thirds carries the raised dot pattern known as arare, or hailstone, which runs over the lid as well, with a textured finish below. It comes in red, green and black.

The curved shape gives it a softer line than the more angular designs, and it suits a slower kind of tea - the sort you pour more than once, for yourself or for a table.
